Q: What type of sandpaper should I use on my 1963 Ford Fairlane?
I have a 1963 Ford Fairlane that i’m trying to redue myself. I need to know what type of sandpaper to use on the body to get some of the old paint off and then I need to know what to do after that?

A: id use some 150 to take the paint off and then use something in the 200’s to smooth it out and then wet sand it with something like 1500 to make it really smooth then put it in primer and go from there.

Q: Will a 1958 ford fairlane gastank fit my 1958 Edsel ranger 4dr sedan or where can i get a new gastank?
i owe a 58 edsel with a rusted up old gastank and its time to get a new one where can i get one. will a 58 ford fairlane fit my car. or basiclly will a regular 58 ford 4dr like mine fit it?

A: The tanks should be the same for a 4 door or a 2 door Ford or Edsel, the only ones that will be different would be from a station wagon. Check with places like Dearborn Classics.

Q: What is a good present for a 1967 ford fairlane fanatic?
He already has 4 of them, and more than enough parts for them. He also already has the model. I’m looking for something like a fairlane/ford blanket or other novelty items/house decorations. Any ideas?!

A: Try Dennis Carpenter Ford Parts. He has an online catalog with a bunch of goodies like T-shirts & stuff. Good luck.

Q: I am looking for a website to make a Ford Fairlane cake?
I want to make a Ford Fairlane cake for my husband. Does anyone know of any websites that have pictures and instructions on how to make one?

A: That’s a VERY specific pattern you’re looking for, and it would take a lot of time to find one. However, if you’ve got any creativity in you, it really wouldn’t be that hard to improvise one. I’m attaching a link to Betty Crocker’s “Off the Road” car cake which you can use as base instructions. Obviously, you’d want to shape the car a little differently than the one they have in the picture.

Get yourself a good picture of whatever year Fairline your husband likes the most. Build the cake using the instructions from the website. I would shape the fins out of icing instead of trying to do it in cake, but otherwise you should be fine just by sculpting your cake before you frost it.

Good luck to you!

Q: does anyone know where i can find a picture of a 1955 ford fairlane?
I’m looking for a picture of a limited edition pink and white ford fairlane for my grandfather. I found a model car that cost $135.00 but I can’t afford that so I thought I would just try to find him a picture of one.

A: google images has quite a few

Q: How much is my 1960 Ford Fairlane worth?
I have a 1960 Ford Fairlane 500 2 door hard top with a straight 6 and automatic trans. It ran when I parked it 17 years ago and has been a victim of the elements ever since. It hasn’t been wrecked and has a clean title. It is in very poor condition, but I believe there is enough left to be restored.

A: Between $2850.00 to 5419.00 dollars.

Q: Can you add power locks to a 1964 Ford Fairlane?
If so, do you know of a dealer? What is their contact information? I am about to buy a 1964 ford fairlane and the only thing wrong is the front door locks don’t work. I would like to replace them power locks instead of manual. Thanks to everyone who helps me out.

A: you bet ya:

Q: Where can i get a rolling chassis for a 1958 ford fairlane 500?
I am restoring my Dad’s 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 for him, but have hit a snag. The old frame was not boxed in very well and has some pretty shotty welds on the crossmembers and rails. Rather than spend alot of hours repairing the old frame i would like to try to find a custom built rolling chassis with IFS and a new rearend. also any idea what kind of prices i will be looking at?

A: You will need a custom frame fabricator to estimate the cost. These guys aren’t very common and don’t come cheap, especially for that era. I would estimate $3-6k, just from the pricing of 32 Ford frames, or the Cobra replicator crowd.

It may be a lot easier to start looking for a better frame from the specialty salvage or collector market, rather than specify a complete new frame custom fabricated and built as a one-off.

Q: How much would a 1967 Ford Fairlane sell for?
I have a 1967 Ford Fairlane with only 78,000 original miles and a clear title. Runs good. Minimal rust. Original Britney Blue paint… How much would it sell for?

A: It all depends on how much you have done to it and what engine it has, V8’s are worth a lot more, especially the big blocks

Q: does a 69 Ford Fairlane have rear seat belts?
I am going to look at a 69 Ford Fairlane tomorrow and I need to know if it has seat belts in the back seat because I have a daughter in a carseat. Thank you :)

A: Yes it does. They started installing seat belts front and rear in 1968. You may have to pull out the seat bottom to find them or reach in the gap between the back and bottom to find them, but they’re there.

‘69 Fairlane. You’ve got yourself a classic, there. Take good care of it. My first car was a ‘69 Falcon my folks bought new and passed down to all the kids.

Q: I have a 1959 ford fairlane,,i need parts,,anyone know of any sites?
I am looking for any sites to find parts for my 1959 ford galxie/fairlane conv

A: I haven’t ordered from these guys in a long while, but they did have some parts:

What are you looking for?

Q: What company would sell a heater core for a 1959 Ford Fairlane?
I need an address of a parts company that will sell a 1959 heater core for my ford car. Does anyone have a name and address. I have looked on line but have not had any luck

Thanks Graham

A: I found one, but you won’t like the price, you might try ebay.com

Q: Are the rear window dimensions the same for a 68 Ford Mustang fastback and a 68 Ford Fairlane 500 Fastback?
Im trying to see if i bought rear window louvers for a mustang, if they would fit the Fairlane.

A: No. 68-69 Ford Fairlane are the same. Mustangs are different.

Q: I have a 1957 Ford Fairlane and would like to convert front brakes to disk brakes.?
I know that 1975 to 1980 Granadas and Monarks will work. But I can’t find any of those in salvage yards around here. Is there any other cars that will work for this conversion. Also what Ford cars can I use for a steering box swap for 1957 Fairlanes?

A: how about a complete front suspension from a 85 T-Bird, rack and pinion plus disc brakes and they are cheap

Q: Where can I buy a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 that needs complete restoration and is in bad condition?
I would like to completely restore this car and can’t find one anywhere that is in bad condition. Every car I find is already restored.

A: not many 57 fords around anymore, I go to car shows all the time and rarely ever see one, try E-bay or craigslist.
